Our Story

It began in 2015.

Green truck outside at brewery venue.

We started out by turning an old Bedford truck into a mobile brewing and food stand and hit the festivals with fresh food and innovative brews.

Cargo has always been about more than beer. It’s the vibe, the setting, and the energy that make every pint taste better. Across all our venues we’ve gone way beyond the usual, creating spots where people come together for genuinely memorable moments. We’ve thrown shows with Ben Harper, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim and The Black Seeds, and even picked up New Zealand’s biggest hospitality award along the way. We don’t do stereotypes — we do experiences.

The current chapter of Cargo has begun with the new Brew Hall in Arthurs Point. Cargo now has a space that provides a venue for private functions, a backdrop for local events and plenty of room to keep crafting high quality brews and spirits.
